Jared White is recognized for his powerful voice, commanding stage presence, and versatility across opera and musical theater. He has performed with many regional opera companies, theaters, and touring productions throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Jared’s opera credits include Betto in Gianni Schicchi (Tacoma Opera), Morales in Carmen (Bellevue Opera), Sheriff Byrd in the world premiere of Tacoma Method (Tacoma Opera), The Father in Hansel & Gretel (NOISE), Ben in The Telephone (Tacoma Opera), Papageno and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte (NOISE), and Schlendrian in Coffee Cantata (Ladies Musical Club).
In musical theater, he has starred as The Beast in Beauty and the Beast (Leavenworth Summer Theatre), Sergeant of Police in Pirates of Penzance (Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society), and Baron Elberfeld in The Sound of Music (Leavenworth Summer Theatre). Other notable performances include Mr. Brownlow in Oliver! (Bellevue Opera), Trent Oliver in The Prom (Auburn Community Players), King Triton in The Little Mermaid (Leavenworth Summer Theatre), Herr Zeller in The Sound of Music (Leavenworth Summer Theatre), Billy in Carousel (Leavenworth Summer Theatre), and General MacKenzie in And Then There Were None (Valley Center Stage).
In addition to his stage work, Jared is an active ensemble singer, having performed with highly regarded choral groups such as the Byrd Ensemble, Radiance, Premier Vocal Entertainment, and the Seattle Symphony Chorale.
A passionate advocate for opera as a living, dynamic, and accessible art form, Jared serves on the Board of Directors for the Lowbrow Opera Collective, an organization dedicated to presenting new and relevant operas to diverse audiences. Through his work on multiple committees, he engages in all aspects of opera production, from evaluating and selecting new works to designing and building sets.
His love of the stage is matched only by his love of dogs, gardening, reading, and the Oxford comma.
